Crime Mapper
Crime Mapper is an interactive application that shows the geographic distribution of recorded criminal offences for South Australia on a map. The tool allows the easy selection of data covering the metropolitan area or the whole state, the type of criminal offences to map, how to measure those offences and the time period of interest. Data for five calendar years is available (2002 to 2006).
Troubleshooting
The maps use an XML-based technology called Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) and requires some software on your machine to work. The maps were tested using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 and the free Adobe SVG Viewer 3.0 plugin. If you can not see the text 'SVG Viewer Installed' in a box below, please download and install the SVG Viewer before proceeding.
If you can see the text in the box above, you already have SVG viewer software installed.
Note for Internet Explorer 6.x users
Please be aware that IE 6.x comes with the Adobe SVG Viewer plugin pre-installed, but it is an old version and the 'SVG Viewer Installed' test above will not pick this up. It is suggested that you download and install version 3.0 of the SVG Viewer.
